AL. I have near 8 years of experience in drafting, house design and
in the last 2 years, have branched out into small town design and neighborhood
planning, including neighborhood/town mapping, useful for sales brochures
and plat understanding.
As I am not a registered Architect, you will find my prices to be far
more reasonable for your purposes, and much closer to home. With so
many years of working in this field, I have a complete understanding
of house construction & excellence in design, specifically correct
Architectural detailing missing in so many built structures as seen
today. The standards to which drawings are produced from my office far
surpass other designer’s to date. As I am making a commitment
to establish myself in the community, I would like to offer my services
for all your needs from new house design to renovations and additions.
From 8,000 sq ft homes to a simple cottage, even work published in Southern
Living Magazine under Mouzon & Associated Architects, I feel I have
the experience required to produce drawings that will make pricing a

About our Construction Drawings:
At Sherrod Drawings, our drawings are thorough. We detail our plans
to your specifications. Given our own freedom in design we draw our
buildings to not only match classical detail proportions, though to
meet or exceed any stock plan sets you can buy. CONTACT

Specialty Details: Today's construction process truly depends on sound
design rooted in the understanding
of how to build. Since the standard Cul-De-Sac ranch house came into
being, many home builder's have lost the talent in sub-contractors to
be able to build classical details, such as a self supporting brick
jack arch. Sherrod Drawings provides just such drawings
to assure your built homes excel in design.
Stock Plans & Custom Design:
Sherrod Drawings continues to provide stock plans through several resources.
From our own library, Our Katrina Cottage Plan books provided by the
New Urban Guild, and offerings Mouzon Design, an award winning Architectural
firm with house plans as seen in Southern Living.
Theory:
Towns, neighborhoods and houses should all keep in mind, they serve
the common population, and should be designed to this end. Making the
decision to build for the person, creates a pleasing space, and higher
value for the home.
Design Process: Sherrod Drawings will meet with you to discuss your
project, and review the proposed request for design. We never charge
for our initial meeting. After we study your program, we will compose
a quote for your review.
Once a price is agreed upon, we begin the process of Schematic Design,
where we draft with pencil & paper your proposed design, after submittal
to the Owner (Client) we move into Design Documents in a CAD system,
where it is feasible to plot our plans on large scale printing (24"x36")
for study. After this last round of revisions, we move into Construction
Drawings.
Construction Drawings. This is the largest portion of our work. Once
completed, we move into plan printing and release to the Owner for pricing
& Construction.
Other stock plans are a great way to begin the process of design, though
nearly 95% of our clients find major renovations will need to be made
to most of them. We feel that we can easily improve upon all these other
plans and create a like house plan to meet your needs.

Pricing:
The cost of services from Sherrod Drawings are in line as a general
Draftsman, and nearly half as expensive as a registered Architect. Quoted
projects are typically billed either at the end of month for percent
of work completed, or hourly work is billed when the project is done
and handed over. In either case, each bill is due upon receipt and considered
late 15 days afterwards.
We will work with you on dividing payments over a monthly fee as required
at the time of contract signing.

We request that our non-hourly clients and Sherrod Drawings both agree
upon services to be completed and fees paid by signing a contract for
the express purpose of insuring all parties have a spelled out explanation
of their obligation to one another. Limited Residential Project fees
(ie Stock Plan Revisions)
Set includes full floor plans, elevations, limited structural &
combined lighting & electrical plans (for example, a client already
has a plan, either sketched or bought)
This set includes the following:
Title Sheet Layouts full extent of set to Builder.
Floor Plans Fully dimensioned with all applicable details,
finish schedules, details & notes as required.
Roof Plan Complete over view and detailing of roof finishing,
including all slopes, flashing details & notes.
Elevations The minimum of all 4 exterior elevations as required
to express design intent, along with applicable steps, hand railing,
door & window details.
Sections Applicable wall sections, overall building sections
at eave rake assure full and proper detailing.
Structure All required structural drawings, such as a combined
foundation & first floor framing plan, framing plan as
required at all other levels, including details showing proper framing
connections at all locations, pier locations & requirements towards
final construction.
Electrical A mix of design between our design expertise and
Owner requirements. Lay out of electrical plans, location of switches
& fixtures and requirements for placement in structure.
Check Setting In house check setting helps to correct errors
for easier construction without questions
Full Residential Project fees
Set includes complete design of all portions of residence to ensure
accurate buildings
(Complete Residential Design services, from site study to final completion
& Owner’s move-in)
This final set includes the following:
Title Sheet Layouts full extent of set to Builder.
Site Plan Associated paving on site, landscape lighting and
planting as required
Floor Plans Fully dimensioned with all applicable details,
finish schedules, details & notes as required.
Roof Plan Complete over view and detailing of roof finishing,
including all slopes, flashing details & notes.
Elevations All exterior elevations, including hidden elevations
as found in courtyard homes, are included to express design intent,
along with applicable notations, steps & hand railing details.
Interior Elev All cabinetry designed & dimensioned according
to Owner’s requirements, such as bath & kitchen & pantry
design, along with applicable details.
Reflected Ceiling These plans show final detailing of ceiling
finishes, crown molding & crown molding details. Lay out of lighting
plans, location of switches & fixtures and requirements for placement
in structure.
Sections All applicable wall sections, overall building sections,
enlarged eave, rake & cornice detailing assure full and proper detailing,
sections through each new porch condition.
Door & Windows At least one sheet detailing each door &
window condition with appropriate details for each construction type.
Dormer Sheet A separate sheet dedicated to the correct construction
of dormers
Structure All structural drawings, such as roof framing, foundation
& framing plans as required at each level, including details showing
proper framing connections at all locations, pier locations & requirements
towards final construction.
Electrical A mix of design between our design expertise and
Owner requirements. Lay out of electrical plans, location of outlets
and requirements for placement in structure.
Check setting Separate review out of office helps to assure
accuracy of drawings and details.
Construction Administration may be provided as requested on
an hourly basis for either set of plans offered.
Stock Plan fees
Sherrod Drawings offers stock plans on its web site, payable through
paypal or in office. As time progresses, we will continue to offer more
plans. All stock plans meet the Limited Residential Set structure, and
pricing is shown for one set, and multiple copies are available at an
extra fee for each additional set. These are for use on a one time,
one use basis. A separate license for construction will be granted at
a rate of $400, per house built.
If you are interested in a stock plan with modifications, we will simply
ask that you purchase the plan (which acts as your set to mark up and
express your requested design) we will work up a quote based on your
modifications.
If you are interested in completing a custom designed house, it may
fall within our ideals to offer your plan in the future as a separate
stock plan. We will work out a deal, typically shaving off as much as
$300 on the Limited Project Fees for production of this plan.
At times we will offer stock plans for sale by other Designer’s,
these will be payable to the other Architect/Designer. Sherrod Drawings
feels any plan we offer for sale either by us or through us excels in
design, though we reserve to hold no liability for items found or excluded
from these plans. These fees may be charged at a different rate from
ours.
